Serious answers only.thank you
PS it gets itchy and red and my hands feel sweaty and numb and then there is painBIG Nail problem with picture?
Hmm, that picture of your finger does not look right. Sounds like it might be infected.
You need to bathe it in some sort of antiseptic. Epsom salts are good too. Dry it then put antiseptic or tea tree cream on it and cover it for a while. Band aids would be too small. You need something larger but I can't remember what they're called, wound covers/gauze squares and use first aid/surgical tape to attach it to your finger at the top and bottom.
If you have blisters that have spread it could be infectious or could be more serious than a dodgy nail or they could be unrelated.
Aches could mean anything. Again could be unrelated but could be connected to the infection too. Try paracetamol as you may have a raised temperature while your body fights the infection.
Dizzy spells and black spots are not good. Try not to get up or sit down too quick while your finger is bad. The paracetamol may help with this.
Is there a pharmacist or someone at a local chemist shop who could advise.BIG Nail problem with picture?
Get some espom salt and mix it with water and let your hand sit in that for at least 30 minutes every day. My sister had an ingrown toenail, and she did that. It didn't work because it was already way to messed up, and she had to get the toenail removed. But it might not be to late for you.

Toe nail problem please help?
About 2 months ago my a cold full soda can fell out of the refrigerator and fell on my big left toe and it hit at the the root of the growth point like on the cuticle. It hurt so bad but I didn't think too much of it because I have smashed my finger nail before and nothing really happened. So as time has passed you could still see like dried blood under the nail. I looked today and noticed the nail was coming off at the cuticle so I mess with it a bit and pieces from the bottom part of the nail were falling off along with the dried blood. So what dose this mean? Will I no longer grow a toe nail? If I cant is there any way to get one back?Toe nail problem please help?
The dried blood is probably holding the detached nail to the skin. But don't bother it because you will irritate it or cause infection. Soak it in epsom salt. If the nail doesn't completely fall off, then it will just grow out with the new nail growing in.
If it does come off, keep the exposed nail bed clean and dry. It will be very sensitive. Only bandage it for cushion, if you can't wear open toe shoes until it's not so sensitive. It can take anywhere from 3-6 months for the nail to completely replace itself.
I stumped on toe on the foot-board of my bed. The nail split but I think the entire nail came off from the bandage making it mushy. It was torture to only have 9 toes polished after a pedicure!Toe nail problem please help?
Relax, lol, something similar happened to me, when I broke my big toe nail in half, hitting it against the cupboard.
What happens when it falls off is that your new nail is coming out, it takes a while because your toe nails grow four times slower than fingernails, just hang in there, your nail will come back! ;)
It is amazing how even dropping a can of soda could knock off a toe nail.... For me it was my motorcycle kick stand about a month ago. Goes to show how fragile we are... You will grow a new Toenail, but it takes a long time. So far no sign with me either, but it is the second time it happened so I know I will eventually get one.
The toe nail will regrow. I have had the same thing happen to me dropped a stool on my toe. Same thing dried blood under the nail until it complete fell off. A new toe nail will grow.

Nail Problem?
So problems occur on both fingers and toe nails. *Yes, I know its gross, but I need help...
My finger nails are a little pale and have this ';double layer'; thing going on. (I guess you would call it chipping, splitting, cracking, etc...) and it has been going on for a while; even when I trim them and look perfectly normal, it happens again. On the contrary, my toe nails are a little different: the two big toe nails are somewhat thick, but very rigidy. A little yellow (due to nail polish I guess), and they have a little redsidue under(if I scrape)...and one other thing, there is one little toenail that got smooshed and was left bruised (or dead). I peeled it off, of coarse, after a period of time. Yet NOT EVERYTHING came off. Its still has the top layer lining, but I looks very small and thin compared to the others =(
Is there anything that I can do to cure both problems? I really want smooth, healthy looking nails. Im getting really impatient and fustrated!-
PLEASE HELP ME!!!Nail Problem?
i think you should go see a beauty therapist, they will be able to maintain your nails by giving a mani, and tell you what you need to do. i had that problem and they got me using nail oil and some other things. and my nails are great nowNail Problem?
Do your long nails break easily like when, say, opening a can of juice? Your nails are probably weak. Don鈥檛 fret. Just get a clove of garlic. Rub the peeled garlic on each nail and let the garlic oil stay for at least 30 minutes. I know you don鈥檛 like the smell of garlic so it is recommended that you rub garlic in your nails before showering. By the way, garlic has antifungal properties, too.
hmmmm, you may want to go to a doctor...as for the foot...i think you have althests foot... if you can cure it, please share you secrete!
you got the same problem w/ my friend~ they told me that it happens because you have a eating problem~ but i don't know if its true~ try eating more healthy foods..
nails can be tricky... they are appendages of the skin..without the skin we wouldn't have nails. i feel your fingernails are normal but just need some strengthening. i call your nails eggshell nails. you can file them and then in a few days they are all chipped and the top layer is peeling. try some of the sally hassen line, strentheners and nail foods,
now the bruised toenail will never be the same. once it was bruised the nerve was probally damaged, so it will never grow back right. it may even have somwhat of a jelly feel sometimes. look at your nails..if you see lots of lines, ridges, and corrigations in them, it is a sign of illness or disease..sometimes its within but just hasn't surfaced. reallty watch what you eat and drink plenty of water..good luck

Nail problem! please help!?
Ok so, my friend wants to stop biting her nails before her grad so that she can get a mani (and a lip piercing as a reward for stopping). she's tried nail polish and lemon juice, neither work! grad is in 3 months! what can i/she do to stop her(self)? (we've looked on a lot of sites and they all suggest slow, mental changes (i.e: taking a picture of her nails to remind her how bad they look) and we don't have time for that!)Nail problem! please help!?
Paint them a gorgeous color with a color of polish that she loves! She'll like them so much she can't bear to bite them. There are also some gross tasting polishes you can buy, so that she realizes when she's biting, since a lot of people do it out of habit.Nail problem! please help!?
well what i did to my sis was put nail polish on her nails everyday cause that stuff taste disgusting.
(For ur friend)I have the SAME problem.... I'm hardcore nail biter, i have been doing it since I grew a teeth as when i was a baby. All of those stuff i am trying to do (helps if u do ALL of those stuff)
-Stop looking at ur nails!
-Nail polish
-force urself not to think about the nails!
-if u really cant handle it, get a gum-chewing stuff helps
-give urself a mani
-use rubberband on ur arm n snap it everytime u bite it.
I have a super short nails, but i still get a mani, they putted a clear nail, n then added white paint for the tip :]
I wish i can help... right now i stopped biting them.
IT takes awhile to break the habit. its like addicted to alcholic(sp?) but yea nail biting is a lot worse addicted:D
use this nail polish or something like it

I had the same problem...except I'm not graduating lol but I went to a nail salon and even though it was a little pricey ($45 plus tip) I got fake nails....you can't really bite them and even if you want to try, you won't want to waste all of that money. Fake nails DON'T look bad or even fake, I got solar ones which is a pink gel powder instead of clear and it makes them look really natural. Hope this helps your friend because it really helped me! PS. I got fake nails and I'm young (like not even graduated public school yet) and they let me so it doesn't really matter how young you are if you are graduating either grade 8 or 12, you can get them no matter what!! Oh and 1 more thing: my nails were super short and they let me get them so don't think that your nails are too short!
just remember your goal and if you catch her biting her nails slap her on the shoulder or tell her to stop. Another way would be to remember that you could end up in a cast because you bite your nails! (I mean on your finger of course!)
try to do something to her teeth or something. when i got braces, i COULDNT bite my nails because myfingers coulsnt fit in between them. put nail polish remover on the nails. it didnt help me to stop, butit slowed me down because ittasted terrible.
get the yuck tasting polish or put nail polish remover on her nails.
once i put it on my nails and forgot to wash my hands and i had a bit of food on my finger so i licked my finger and it tasted disgusting
put hot sauce on her fingers. haha, :)
go to the nail salon and let them apply acrylic. It worked for me. The acrylic is so tough and horrible tasting.

Weird nail problem... disconnected?
I'm not sure how best to describe this but I've somehow made the area where the thumbnail is connected to the thumb much shorter than the other one. Like imagine you got a knife and stuck it inside your thumbnail and sliced it across... well I didn't do this but over time this is what has happened so this thumbnail stops a lot further down than the other one.
I keep my nails as short as possible so this means I have a lot of flesh at the top and it feels like I have no nail. If I don't cut it and let it grow then I get things stuck in there and it gets painful when I try and remove it (may be how it gradually got shorter anyway). Either way it isn't comfortable.
Can anyone give me any advice to get it back to normal? It seems permanent :o(Weird nail problem... disconnected?
it won't grow back to ';normal.'; Your nail bed has been shortened by super-short clipping and/or biting. there is no repair

I am a nurse.
You need to seek medical attention . That looks pretty bad. You could lose your nail permanently and possibly get an infection. Your physician will know what to do and can splint it so that it can breathe and avoid any contact.BROKEN NAIL PROBLEM PLEASE HELP?
it doesn't look that bad.
just put some neosporin on it with a bandaid during the day. don't stop the neosporin, and don't put it on sparingly, either. most of the time nails like this just heal on their own. there's nothing that a doctor can do for it, really. if it hurts during the day, try to take some ibuprofen.
for the user above me...it actually doesnt look that bad..my sister had it happen to her once too. she just waited for it to heal, after a week or so it was normal again. don't touch it as its sensitive right now, but try going to a drugmart store and buy something that can heal your nail such as neosporin. or ask the salesperson if your not sure...anyways i hope it heals soon! good luck:)

Finger nail problem,please help?
a year back my brother slammed the door unaware of noticing my finger between it.It was a dreadful pain. The skin right below my ring fingernail got jammed. Then it got reddish purple.went to the doctor for relieving pain and blood clot.He gave the medicines after which the pain receded. Then after a month i could notice that the nail growing from underneath looked different.it grow detached from the skin. The nail looked yellow in color and foul smell started coming from it. Then the nail grew up and it broke off. From last year the nail grows and breaks off and its a regular thing going on.my other nails are looking good and iam concerned about this one.Whenever i go out as it looks bad to look so i would wrap a band aid around it.Please tell me what should i do.iam not very sure whether it is nail fungus or not.Now the condition is one half of the nail appears good but the other half in the right side the nail is growing detached from the underlying skin and it pains.please help me with this.thank you for the answers in advance.Finger nail problem, please help?
If it smells bad there is infection. Discoloration usually represents a fungus. If you want to try an all natural approach to healing this go to your local health food store and get Tea Tree Ointment. Apply this with a swab a few times a day for as long as it takes. Herbal treaments do not work instantly, be patient and see the results. You can also order tea tree ointment from http://www.teatreeplace.com Do some research on tea tree oil and you will be amazed at what a miraculous product from nature this is.
