Physics problem about a hammer hitting a nail.?

The 1.21 kg head of a hammer has a speed of 7.7 m/s just before it strikes a nail (Fig. 14-17) and is brought to rest. Estimate the temperature rise of a 13 g iron nail generated by fifteen such hammer blows done in quick succession. Assume the nail absorbs all the energy.Physics problem about a hammer hitting a nail.?
Each blow of the hammer converts KE to heat in the nail

one blow has

.5*1.21*7.7^2 J of energy

fifteen has

538 J of energy

temp rise is

538/(0.45*13)

92 degrees C
