Cat Nail/Claw problems?

I have noticed that my cat's nail one one of her paws is discolored. At first glance it looks like she has something stuck in it. (And it's not doo doo, even thought the pics look like it! LOL)But if i look closer it looks more like a rash. It doesn't seem to be painful to her. When i try and look at it she just gets agitated and will pull away. But she walks fine and it really doesn't seem to bother her. But it is pretty gross looking. And i don't want it to be serious of course. I also don't have the extra hundred dollars to take her to the vet. So any info on this would be appreciated. I have posted a couple pictures just incase it will help! Thanks in advance! :0)

Its hard to tell from the pics. hun... I know you dont want to hear it but you should take her to the vet. It could be an abcess. See if it is a scab and if it comes off. If it does try to keep it clean. However, the vet is still your best bet. Good luck.Cat Nail/Claw problems?
Looks to be a nail bed infection. Taking her to the Vet for this won't cost you a hundred dollars. Take her for an exam (usually only 20-40 dollars) and go from there. If it is a nail bed infection, the Vet will prob put her on antibiotics and have you clean the area daily until the infection is gone. For now, you can try cleaning it in warm soapy water once a day. Make sure you rinse it well. Good luck!
I've seen that in ours, it's not worth a vet trip unless the paw swells up, which it probably won't do.

What happened is that the cat scraped her 'nuckle' when the claws were out, making a cut above where the claw goes into the sheeth. That looks like crusted blood, which will be licked off (it's sore right now but not bad) and be gone in about a week.
If you don't have the money for a vet, you could always call the vet and tell them what the claw looks like, and ask them is it something serious. You may be able to go by an animal shelter or humane society and explain to them the money problem and ask them would it be possible for them to take a look at it. I would think the humane society would be willing to do that since you are only trying to take care of your kitty.
