Nail problems?

i have poor hand nails at the moment and have done for a while, nails that break and have ridges..does this indicate that i have poor physical health? or a specific health problem? i bite my nails alot to because of the high anxiety and stress i feel alot of the time. is there anything i can do to repair them?Nail problems?
Ridges are a sign of a magnesium deficiency in your diet. Breaking and brittle nails can be as simple as excessive dryness due to hand washing or low humidity. Apply hand lotion to the nails, massage it in after hand washings and/or dish washing and see if it helps. The results will take a few days.Nail problems?
Break the urge to bite your nails by applying bitter apple to them. Make sure you're getting adequate biotin. Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) is a herb which is excellent for many things including the nails.

Nail are composed a of keratin - a type of protein - and minerals. Nails provide protection for your finger tips and are meant to be strong yet flexible, smooth and glossy.

Nail health relies on sufficient supplies of protein, B vitamins, vitamin A, calcium, zinc, iodine and iron. When your body isn't receiving enough of these vital nutrients, or doesn't absorb or assimilate them properly, the deficiency may surface on your nails.

Abnormal or unhealthy nails may also be the result of a local injury, a glandular deficiency such as hypo-thyroidism, or a deficiency of certain nutrients. A visit to your friendly neighborhood dermatologist is indicated for severe problems.

Any nail abnormality indicates that the diet is not adequate. A well-balanced diet supplying all essential nutrients is recommended for all around healthy nails.
dude you need to get laid..............oh yeah you lost your teeth
you need to eat some vitamin C!! also get some Sally Hanson products ie nail hardner, miracle nail growth - they will help your nails along - but what ever you do - stop biting them!!!!
ok. first stop biting those nails. not only is it unsightly, nails are disgusting and dirty there are a lot of germs that harbor under those suckers. they sell stuff like a nail polish that will help you to stop biting they sell it at walmart. it sounds like maybe you aren't getting enough nutrition and you may need better eating habits. or you can use daily vitamins. since nails and hair are a keratonized form of protein and vitamins any excess of these items benefit your nail and hair growth and their health. it may take several months to see results but you will see them. tghe ridges however may be from damage done to the nail bed itself and there may not be anything to fix that other than filing the surface of the nail then buffing. you can get a manicure once a month to help the appearance of the nails also.
